Manual Handling
Manual Handling is the oldest and sometimes the most crucial materials handling technique. Despite the growing efficiency and versatility of machines, every industry requires some amount of manual handling operations. Though it appears simple, it can be dangerous if not performed in the proper manner. Using the correct techniques and methods to handle a variety of shapes, sizes, and weights requires training.
Manual Handling training focuses on safe handling, minimising the effort, knowing the human biomechanics to avoid short- or long-term injury, and correct postures for lifting, carrying and moving loads. Adjusting the body’s center of gravity with the load is an important component of the training. Manual Handling personnel will also learn about handling risks, avoiding accidents, and managing emergency situations.
